What is Regenerate Cities all about?
Regenerate Cities’ purpose is to restore global temperatures to pre-industrial levels. Impossible, you say?
For decades, people have proven that it would take only 2% of the world’s GDP to lower the global temperature by 1.5 degrees.
It took around 50% of GDP to win WWII, and in 2020 we spent 15% to manage COVID. What does this prove? It proves that we have the means to achieve pretty much everything we want. All we lack is a will.
A great framework for innovation is to ask question such as “how would we build an airport today if we started from scratch?” and “How would we construct the education system today if we started with a blank sheet?” We ask the same question with cities: “If we could build cities from scratch without being affected by our preconceived biases about what cities are, how would we build them?”
What makes us stand out is that we don’t just ask these questions – we take action!
Old-fashioned cities are powerhouses of global rising temperatures. Delivering biophilic, sustainable communities to the world via nature-based systems will reduce temperatures, capture carbon, generate water and increase oxygen levels. This can be achieved via collaborative effort by 2030.

Dr Candy Leighton has a lifetime experience in business. She holds degrees in mathematics, chemistry, biology and has a Ph.D. in biochemistry.
As a scientific and multidisciplinary big picture thinker, Candy’s career choices are driven by societal need. You’re going to search for a long time before finding anyone more positive, energetic and approachable than Candy.
Together with Candy’s team and her own extensive multi-disciplinary research, we have the right tools, knowledge and experience to build the next generation of cities that our planet desperately needs.
